March 1888 - HOPE FOR ALL

An entertainment was given at the schoolroom in Five Oak Green on Friday evening last by members and friends of the temperance organisation, the Band of Hope. The room was very nicely decorated and there was a first-rate programme carried out.

Mr Larkin gave accompaniments on the violin, Mr Crayford on the clarionette and Mr Pearce and Miss Skinner on the piano.

The programme included a recitation of "The rabbit pie" by Mr Goode, the duet "The little brown jug" by Mr Bussell and Mr Brown, a song "The bucket that hung in the well" by Miss Brown and recitations "Buy your own cherries" by Mr Bishop and "The drunkard's wife" by Mr. Collins.

The proceedings terminated with a vote of thanks for all.
