The Parish of Capel is blessed with two ancient and beautiful churches, both listed buildings. All Saints, Tudeley, is famous for its Chagall windows, while St. Thomas a Becket, Capel, now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT), has mediaeval wall paintings.

More information about the churches and the CCT can be found on the Capel United Church website

History Group member Christine Langridge has painstakingly researched burials in the graveyards and produced list and maps which will be of particular interest to those tracing their ancestors.

Much information can be found on the church website mentioned above and books detailing plot numbers and locations are on display in the churches for the convenience of visitors. In St. Thomas's there is also a book telling the story of some of the more notable parishioners buried there.

Both churches are well worth a visit and guide books explaining their history and architectural features are available for purchase. They will re-open as soon as possible.
